caramelized oats with blueberries

This one is my favourite breakfast recipe. How amazing caramelized oats sounds? These are so sweet and this caramel flavour is absolutely delicious. Once you connect them with creamy yoghurt and blueberries you’ll have heaven in mouth. And I’m serious here. It’s really taste so good together.

Before start…

You’ll need use non-stick frying pan for this recipe.

Make it cheaper!

If blueberries are too expensive use any fruit you like it. Great choice here are nectarines or raspberries.

PRICE: £1,64 for one portion

(Breakfast oats £0.03; 1tsp coconut oil £0.09; 2tbsp coconut sugar £0.16; 1tbsp agave syrup £0.15; 4tbsp greek yoghurt £0.20; 120g blueberries £0.80; 2tsp creamy cashew butter £0.21)

NOTE: The price of blueberries is seasonal.

Makes 1 bowl

INGREDIENTS

  • 50 g porridge oats
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp sugar (I used coconut sugar)
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 4-5 tbsp thick yogurt or sour cream
  • 120g blueberries
  • 1-2 tsp creamy nut butter

METHOD

Heat a frying pan with the coconut oil, maple syrup and coconut sugar over a medium heat until is hot and bubbling. Add the oats and stir them for about 2 minutes to make sure, they are fully coated in caramel. Carefully place the caramelized oats into your serving plate. Gently add the yoghurt and blueberries on top. Sprinkle with creamy nut butter.
